Five years ago, we had the privilege of installing shelving for Chinese International School in Hong Kong. Recently, we revisited the project to assess how it had held up. We are pleased to report that the shelving still looks as pristine as it did on day one. There are no scratches or scuffs, which speaks to the foresight of the customer in adding felt pads to the bookends.
During the design phase, the customer chose to incorporate a variety of face-out book display options. These features remain in use and continue to enhance the library’s functionality. Notable display features include the full bay end panel displays, face out display shelves in most bays, plus the placement of acrylic series holders throughout. The junior library also benefits from face-out shelving and browser tables, making books more accessible and visually engaging for younger readers.
Signage throughout the three libraries is clear, consistent, making it easier to navigate.
Staff members have expressed their satisfaction with the choice of shelving, the outstanding quality, and the excellent service provided by Raeco. As the library continues to be well-used by students and faculty, it remains in excellent condition and still looks as new as when it was first installed.
